Supplier Quality Engineer - Located in Fargo/West Fargo, ND

Job Overview:

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for driving Marvin s supplier base towards quality standards and supporting supplier-related issues at the plant level or on-site at Marvin Suppliers and tasks assigned by the Supplier Quality Manager.

Highlights of your role:
  • General task management
  • Carry out supplier audits and evaluate supplier quality systems.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
  • Support Plant glass reviews with primary supplier at plants in Fargo ND, Grafton ND, and Warroad MN.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Ability to travel as needed to visit suppliers and Marvin plants.
  • Supplier root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues
  • Collate and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain
  • Work with the supplier directly, to create correction action plans to address process failures
  • Promote the use of preferred techniques for continuous improvements such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Provide concise, complete, and accurate documentation of inspection results relative to the area of responsibility
    • This refers to supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by engineering product specifications or Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval, or product warrant submission
  • Facilitate the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues within assigned projects
  • Support the Supplier Quality Manager as requested.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting Marvin requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities within Marvin
  • Produce written reports
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can):
  • Bachelor or Associate Engineering Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Substantial experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working in Quality Assurance
  • Knowledge of quality systems i.

  • Process-based auditing experience
  • Inspection Methods and knowledge of MSA studies
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
